If this is your first time on the Boston Made App, here is everything you need to know to get oriented and make the most of what the App offers.

Start with the Discovery flow on the homepage. It will ask you a few questions about what you are looking for and route you to the most relevant brands and destinations. You do not need an account to use it, and your answers are not stored. It takes about two minutes and gives you a personalized starting point.

After the Discovery flow, explore the Directory. It lists every brand in the ecosystem with its status, category, and description. Use the search bar to find specific brands, or use the category and status filters to browse by type. The A-to-Z grouping makes it easy to scan the full list.

The News tab links to content from across the ecosystem. It is primarily a link-out page — clicking a link will take you to the relevant brand's website. The newsletter subscription at bostonmade.net is the best way to receive ecosystem content directly in your inbox.

Creating an account is optional but unlocks several features: your favorites sync across devices, your discovery paths are saved to your account rather than just your browser, and you can connect your identity to participating partner sites through the Passport system.

The Boston Made+ membership is the paid tier. It costs twenty dollars per month or one hundred twenty dollars per year and unlocks member-only content across participating brands. It is a content membership — it does not include physical goods, professional services, or investment products.

The bottom navigation bar gives you quick access to the five main sections: Discover (the homepage), Directory, Favorites, News, and Account. On desktop, the top navigation provides the same access plus the Explore Our Network dropdown for direct links to all ecosystem brands.

One thing worth knowing before you start: the App does not require an account to use most of its features. You can run the Discovery flow, browse the Directory, read editorial content, and explore the ecosystem without signing in. Creating an account unlocks the ability to save favorites across devices and access Boston Made+ content if you subscribe, but it is not a prerequisite for getting value from the App on your first visit.

If you do decide to create an account during your first visit, the process is straightforward: email address, password, and email verification. The App uses email verification to confirm your address before activating your account — this is a standard security practice that prevents accounts from being created with addresses that do not belong to the person registering. The verification email typically arrives within a few minutes; check your spam folder if you do not see it.
